A cross-Straits communication event for youths recently took place in Taicang, Jiangsu province for a fourth time to further promote exchanges and interactions and to enhance mutual understanding between Taiwan and Taicang youths.

As one of the series of activities, the Taiwan and Taicang youths took part in the orienteering at the Zhenghe Park in the Taicang Port area, which is located on the south bank of the Yangtze River estuary and is a nationally recognized artery port for container transportation.

The event adopted the electronic directional system, LBS (location-based system), and AR (augmented reality) technologies, as well as integrating elements of Zhenghe's seven voyages to the western world in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), calligraphy and the Belt and Road Initiative.

It provided the cross-Straits youths an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of aspects of Chinese history and helped strengthen the ties between the youths.
