United Automotive Electronic Systems Co Ltd (UAES), a joint venture of China's CNEMS and Germany's Bosch Group and established in 1995, opened up its plant in Taicang, Jiangsu province on Aug 28.

The plant will specialize in the manufacturing of new energy vehicle parts, including the electrical machine, the electric axis and the power module, as well as the assembly of automobiles. It is hoped the opening of the plant can help to promote the development of the automobile components industry and the new-energy automobile industry in Taicang.

The total investment in the further construction of the Taicang plant in the next six years will exceed 1.7 billion yuan ($246.39 million), which will enable the production of 13 electromechanical production lines, three electric axis production lines, and two power module production lines.

When all the production lines go into operation, the annual output of the electrical machines is expected to surpass 1 million while the output of the electric axes and the power modules is 700,000 and 2 million respectively. The annual output value will reach 6 billion yuan.

UAES started its business in new energy vehicles in 2010, which has had a rapid growth in recent years.
