Five companies from Taicang, a county-level city of Suzhou, Jiangsu province were listed among this year's Top 50 private companies of Suzhou announced by Suzhou General Chamber of Commerce on July 30.

A minimum annual sales revenue of 3.04 billion yuan ($440.61 million) was required to make the cut, an increase of 343 million yuan over the previous year. Among the 50 companies, four have an annual operating income of more than 100 billion yuan.

The five companies from Taicang are Xiangtang Group, Jiangsu New Yalu Group Co Ltd, Taicang Donghua Energy & Gas Co Ltd, Taicang T&W Electronics Co Ltd, and Jiangsu Shenjiu Chemical Fiber Co Ltd.

1. Xiangtang Group

Xiangtang Group, founded in 1994 and covering a business scope of shoes, real estate, finance, chemical fiber, and bio-pharmaceutical, is currently the largest production and export base of handicraft shoes in the country. It has been awarded by the State Administration for Industry & Commerce for its honesty in sticking to and keeping contracts with its clients. Its trademark "Xiangtang" has been rated as a provincial famous trademark.
