A visit by Taicang's mayor to Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, a district in the northwest of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, has cemented friendly relations between the regions, Taicang Daily reported.

Jürgen Schütz, the county commissioner of Rhein-Neckar-Kreis district, was impressed by Taicang's sound economic and social development, noting that the two regions can look forward to further exchanges in education, culture, medical treatment and trade.

Taicang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, which is home to more than 300 German companies, has a long history of cooperation with the European country.

Wang Jianguo, mayor of Taicang said that, besides the economic benefits, Taicang's cooperation with Germany and with Rhein-Neckar-Kreis in particular is a good opportunity for the city to diversify its cooperation with Germany.

Rhein-Neckar-Kreis boasts facilities for handling advanced printing equipment manufacturing and the medical treatment industry, while housing numerous research institutes and universities, including Heidelberg University and Mannheim Business School.
