The 2018 China Junior & Cadet Open took place in Taicang on July 4, marking the beginning of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Golden Series World Junior Circuit.

A total of 137 junior players from 15 countries and regions, including Chinese mainland, Australia, Austria, France, Sweden and Hong Kong, signed up for the event.

The event this year is composed of team and individual competitions with three groups respectively: U18, U15, and Mini Cadet.

The former two groups will play men's and women's singles and a team competition while the Mini Cadet groups will play men's and women's singles only.

It's the fourth time that the ITTF Golden Series World Junior Circuit has stopped by Taicang. This year, the competition will run through July 8.
