Besides economic cooperation, Taicang has also ramped up efforts to expand its cooperation with Germany in education, culture, and technology.

The dual education system – a system which combines apprenticeships in a company and vocational education at a vocational school in one course -- was brought in from Germany, and has so far benefited more than 10,000 local technicians.

A photo exhibition named the "Taicang-German Story" took place in Taicang's sister city Julich, Germany last year, with 60 photographs showcasing beautiful Taicang and German people's lives in the city.

The first Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Solution Conference was held in Taicang this April, during which it was agreed that the conference will permanently settle in Taicang, where seminars concerning intelligent manufacturing are expected to be organized at regular intervals.
