Li Heping, a Chinese-American scientist living in America for 30 years, recently decided to join a new drug preclinical research center in Taicang.

The scientist once worked for Alcon Laboratories, the largest supplier of ophthalmic medicines worldwide and Novartis AG, a leading company in the pharmaceutical industry and was engaged in ophthalmology-related research.

Li left America to move to the Chinese city in March to assume the role of ophthalmology department director of Joinn Laboratories (Suzhou) New Drug Research Center Co.

He said that he was quite impressed by the Suzhou company.

Joinn has an exclusive team for new ophthalmic drug research, which is a rare practice in China and the team also shows skilled performance in doing experiments.

Li believed that it will be easier to produce new drugs when working with such a team and his years of experience will be fully exploited in the company.

Joinn Laboratories (Suzhou) New Drug Research Center Co, known as the Heptagon because of its unusual seven sided facility, has complete laboratories and facilities to provide general drug assessment and animal models R&D.
