Kashiyama Oosawa, president of ONWARD – a famous Japanese clothing manufacturer, recently visited its new warehouse at Taicang port, the company's first overseas warehouse to be put into operation, Taicang Daily reported.

The president said that the company is positive about Taicang port's advantage in the shipping industry and the regulatory function of its comprehensive bonded zone.

ONWARD's warehouse in Taicang covers 6,000 square meters with an estimated annual purchase and export value of $150 million.

The company's original equipment manufacturers in Japan can directly export their products to Taicang port's comprehensive bonded zone and enjoy a tax refund.

The data of the exported products can be uploaded to the management system of ONWARD's headquarters and a distribution list can be automatically generated.

The Taicang warehouse project helps the company shorten delivery times, saves logistics and labor costs and lowers purchase costs by more than 10 percent.

Comprehensive bonded zone, founded in China's inland areas, integrates the functions of a bonded area, export processing zone, bonded logistic park and port and enjoy preferential policies such as bonding and tax refunds and exemptions.

To date, Taicang port's comprehensive bonded zone has introduced 12 bonded logistics companies and more than 200 supporting enterprises, including Mitsubishi, DHL, and NYK Logistics Co.

Some 50,000 square meters of warehouse and 30,000 square meters of storage yard are expected to be established at the comprehensive bonded zone to support the cross-border e-commerce industry and foreign trade of lot cargoes.
