To reserve taste of old Huangjing for locals

chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: April 4, 2018

Ten other dim sums sold at the store all inherit Huangjing's local features and reserve the place's most traditional taste.

Old local residents like to say that the store's dim sums are just like what their moms made when they were children.

However, such persistence is not easy for the sisters because they are now getting old and it's not easy for them to get up at three every morning to make dim sums and they cannot take a break until five in the evening. At night, they have to prepare for the next day's dim sums.

Actually, what makes them sad is not the fatigue but the fact that many old traditions have faded away, such as distributing rice balls when making a house and fried sweet dough balls for a wedding.

Cai Baoying, the owner, said that they know their store is sort of outdated, but as long as they still run the store, they are sure to reserve the taste of old Huangjing for locals in need.
