German institute cooperates with Taicang vocational school

A German delegation consisting of seven people from German Institute of Industry 4.0 and a local university visited a Taicang vocational school on Nov 13.

The delegation had intensive negotiations with Chien-shiung Institute of Technology in jointly running schools and academic exchanges and a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Chien-shiung Institute of Technology and German Institute of Industry 4.0.

The memorandum states that the two sides are expected to carry out academic and technological research activities in the next three years, including exchanges between teachers, researchers and students, setting up joint courses and joint training projects.

Wei Xiaofeng, president of the Chien-shiung Institute of Technology, introduced the school's basic situation to the German guests.

He said that the cooperation with German Institute of Industry 4.0 intends to establish the most advanced training center for Industry 4.0 around the world and he hopes that in the future his institute is able to become Germany's technology transfer center in the Far East.

Manager of the Germany Academy of Industry 4.0 said that as the representative of the German Institute of Industry 4.0, she will try her best to help the two sides learn more about each other and establish a cooperation and exchange platform for them.

Carsten Rasner, dean of Germany's Steinbeis University, hopes that this cooperation can deepen their understanding of the Chien-shiung institute and promote the implementation of their cooperative projects as soon as possible.

Industry 4.0 originates from a project in the high-tech strategy of the German government, which promotes the computerization of manufacturing industry.
