Mike Buckle, president of the German state bank Bayerische Landesbank (BayernLB), led a delegation to visit Taicang, Jiangsu province on Nov 14.

The delegation attended a meeting with local officials, during which Wang Jianguo, mayor of Taicang, said that the German Center has made great achievements since opening in June 2016 with the help of BayernLB and the German Center in Shanghai.

Wang introduced that Taicang's German Center has acted as a platform where the companies from Taicang and Germany can seek cooperation with each other.

He hopes for more German enterprises from different industries to settle in the German Center for the city attaches great importance to its cooperation with Germany and the development of German Center.

Mike Buckle believes that the choice of locating the German Center in Taicang is great for their bank, considering China has seen rapid development in recent years and Taicang boasts a friendly investment climate.

Invested by BayernLB, the German Center is a promotional agency for Germany's foreign economy and provides complete services and support for the development of small and medium sized German enterprises outside the country.

The German Center in Taicang is the eighth one in the world and is the third one in China. It now houses 31 small and medium sized enterprises, of which 26 enterprises come from Germany, covering business consulting, engineering consulting, legal service, manufacturing, and medical devices.
