Taicang Environmental Monitoring Center has launched a mobile app that will provide local residents in the Jiangsu province city with real-time data on air pollution levels in their local area, Taicang Daily reported on Aug 22.

A separate version of the app has also been created for staff at the city's environmental monitoring stations, which will help them identify and report pollution issues.

The public version of the app can be downloaded from all major app stores by searching "Taicang environmental quality".

The app will provide real-time data on Taicang's air quality, including the concentration levels of different particulates such as PM2.5 and o-zone, as well as health tips based on the current air quality levels.

The version for Taicang's environmental workers will also include data on surface water quality and a project management system allowing workers to report issues.

It also contains more detailed data about Taicang's air quality monitoring stations, including their location and any warning messages posted by the stations' staff.

The head of Taicang Environmental Monitoring Center said that the center would continue to adopt measures to further improve the efficiency and sophistication of its environmental monitoring to better manage the local environment.
