Taicang in Jiangsu province launched a HR service platform on the social media app WeChat designed to serve the many German companies based in the city on Aug 16.

The platform, which was created by the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Taicang High-tech Zone, is designed to help German companies operating in the city deal with issues such as labor disputes with their Chinese employees.

Jin Liping, former president of Taicang Court of Arbitration, will act as an online counselor for HR officers at Taicang-based German companies through the platform.

The platform will also be used to organize monthly lectures by Chinese HR professionals for the city's German businesses to help them interpret policies regarding issues such as labor rights.

Chinese experts in labor disputes will also be invited to hold training seminars on particular themes, including policy interpretation, case analysis, and current trends in labor disputes in China.

Pang Chunyun, an experienced local lawyer, was invited to give a first lecture about labor law during the launch ceremony for the platform on Aug 16, which was attended by HR officers from over 50 German enterprises based in Taicang High-tech Zone.

The platform is one of many projects that the city has launched to support its growing German business community.

This year, the high-tech zone has revamped its talent recruitment website for German enterprises to focus on promoting Taicang-German cooperation achievements and the achievements of the zone's German enterprises, as well as attracting technical professionals.

The zone has also forged partnerships with many vocational colleges, and plans to organize job fairs to encourage German enterprises to hire workers from these colleges over the next six months.

A job fair focused exclusively on German enterprises has been added to the two job fairs held each week in the zone's human resources area.
