Taicang municipal government signed an agreement with electrical components maker Shanghai Moon' Electric Co on July 28, which will see the company build a new smart manufacturing facility in the Jiangsu province city.
The base will be used to produce products including stepper motors, AC and DC motors, and industrial control systems, and is expected to be one of the most advanced intelligent manufacturing facilities in China.
Shen Mi, Party secretary of Taicang, met with Chang Jianming, chairman and president of Shanghai Moons' Electric Co, on the day of the signing ceremony.
Shen introduced Taicang's economic and social development. He said that Taicang focuses on developing three emerging industries, which are high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, and biomedicine.
He added that the city's cooperation with Moons', which got listed on the main board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange in May, will definitely promote the development of its intelligent equipment industry.
The Party secretary said he hoped that the two sides would strengthen their cooperation to ensure the project is able to begin promptly and be completed as early as possible.
Shanghai Moons' Electric Co is dedicated to the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of motion control components and intelligent lighting systems.
The company is the largest hybrid stepper motor supplier in China, which has broken the monopoly of Japanese companies in the global hybrid stepper motors supply market.
