E-sports professionals compete for TGA award in Taicang

More than 1,000 e-sports players met in finals of TGA summer season run in Taicang's Tianjing Lake e-sports center recently to compete for honors in the field and luring cash prize given by renowned Tencent Game Arena, commonly known as TGA.

Winners in the finals are said to gain the places admitted into the Cross Fire Professional League (CFPL) competition, King of Glory (KPL) qualifier, and Cross Fire Pro-League (CFPLM) qualifier in addition to cash.

It was said Tencent will offer a total of 2 million yuan ($293,524.69) to all winners in nearly 30 most popular mobile games and client games competition which last for nearly a month.

The event goes live on a number of well-known live broadcast platforms such as longzhu.com.

TGA is a famous game platform set to host online and offline games, which has attracted tens of millions of e-sports professionals to participate in. It has developed to be China’s greatest and most popular professional e-sports game project. [Photo provided to China Daily]

The e-sports industry is a massive market, emerging and increasingly popular in recent years.

Taicang is planning to develop its Science and Education New City district where the scenic Tianjing Lake area is, has a high speed rail station nearby, and is only two minutes away from Shanghai Hongqiao district, into a famous national e-sports cluster. Until now, the area has been home to 249 e-sports providers of games on PC, mobile phone platforms, program recording, broadcasting, and hosting gaming contests.
