A new self-service public library was launched open on March 21 in the scenic Tianjing Lake area of Taicang Science and Education New district. It is Taicang’s first study room that is open 24 hours to the general public living and working in the city, or visiting the place and have a registration card.

The public study room is well-equipped with a collection of more than 8,000 volumes on book shelves, comfortable desks and chairs, complete coverage of wireless network services, self-help machine to apply for entry and borrowing cards. It is unlocked all day and night long, and completely automated without any working staff on duty, there is only a registration card required for building access and borrowing.
