The healthy figures were brought about mainly from visitors from the nearby cities of Shanghai and Suzhou wanting to experience Taicang’s rural tourism attractions.

Scenic spots in Taicang also made elaborate preparations for the Golden Week, including festival activities involving local folk customs and even a hot air balloon experience.

One-stop tourism resorts in Taicang, integrating accommodation, cuisine, transportation, and recreation, were favored by Shanghai tourists in particular.

Hiring electric vehicles in the city was also popular, providing a convenient and environmentally friendly way of traveling for those wanting to visit more remote scenic spots. Over the seven-day period 257 bookings were made.

Free hand-sketched maps of local scenic spots were also provided to visitors.
