A delegation from Taicang Port Economic and Technological Development Zone, which included three local e-commerce companies, attended the 2016 Belt and Road Initiative: Malaysia-China Business Dialogue, held in Kuala Lumpur which opened on Sept 2.

The four-day event was organized by the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) and the China Economic Cooperation Center (CECC).

During the forum, the Taicang Port delegation visited Malaysia's largest port -- Kelang. The group held discussions with local companies on various topics, such as port logistics, e-commerce, Muslim food and fruit imports.

In recent years, Taicang Port has been an indispensable part on the Shanghai International Shipping Center's circulation. It also plays a positive role in the construction of Yangtze River economic delta, and the One Belt and Road Initiative.

With competitively priced logistics, customs clearance procedures and regulations, Taicang Port has established closer business relationships with Southeast Asian countries, and has opened two direct routes to Bangkok and Laem Chabang in Thailand.

The Taicang delegation also held consultations with young Thai companies and entrepreneurs.
