Suzhou Convert: Promising force in semiconductor field
Suzhou Convert Semiconductor Co., Ltd (Convert), established just a year ago, has already risen to become the city's top supplier of integrated chips and processors, as well as receiving 12 patents, reported Zhangjiagang Daily.
Covert's founder and manager, Luo Yin, claims that making detailed preparations before going into business is a key element of his firm's success.
Luo's preparation came from his postgraduate education as well 10 years of product development experience. His tutor, Wang Zhigong, is the country's leading researcher in fields of SIC (semiconductor integrated circuits), and at many times during Luo's training offered him chances to get involved in enterprise product developing and management. "My entrepreneurship seed sprouts thanks to Professor Wang," said Luo.
In Jan 2015, Luo set up Convert, starting out with just four employees hailing from Xi'an Jiaotong University and Southeast University, in a 200-square-meters production space.
Less than seven months later, Convert release its first official product, a microprocessor, sending its samples to various potential customers. Ding Guohua, former president of Wuxi Si-Power Micro-electronics Co., Ltd, liked the look of Convert's product and decided to ally his company to the startup and let the young generation run the corporation.
In Oct 2015, the company expanded to open its Xi'an division as a R&D base in order to increase production and foster high-end technology personnel. In the next five years, Convert is going to expand its products into the global market, said Luo.
As of May this year, Convert has brought in some 3 million yuan ($455,943) in sales revenue. Luo is confident that that number will increase to 40 million yuan this year and 150 million yuan within five years.
