The plant area of Krones Machinery (Taicang) Co, Jiangsu will be doubled to 30,000 square meters, vice-general manager Feng Cheng told reporters.

Krones Taicang has been expanded three times since it settled in the city in 2004. The new plant is anticipated to come into service in 2017.

The company’s extension is based upon its good market performance. Recently, Krones has seen double-digit growth in volume of production and marketing. Consolidated sales in 2015 totaled €3.17 billion ($3.53 billion), ten percent of which was contributed by the Chinese company.

The Krones Group, headquartered in Neutraubling, Germany, plans, develops and manufactures technological equipment for the fields of filling and packaging.

Its Taicang branch is the group's Asian production base and the only wholly-owned subsidiary in China.
