Civil infrastructure improvement gets 1 b yuan investment in Shuangfeng town
Shuangfeng town in Taicang city, Jiangsu province is ambitious to improve civil infrastructure in Xinhu village, with a coffer of 1 billion yuan set aside for this purpose.
The plan involves a series of civil infrastructure projects, including treatment of waterways and construction of a nursing home. Some projects have been completed; others are underway or still in the planning stage.
The laying of sewerage tunnels linking 217 households has been completed.
A 9,000-square-meter new nursing home, with more than 300 beds, is to be put into use in 2018, according to Mr. Xu, manager of the town' only current nursing home. Located in the village, the present nursing home has merely 100 beds, which has proved insufficient.
Moreover, 446 parking spots will be built in the village, alongside 80 garbage bins and 20 garbage sorting centers. Asphalt paving will be applied to three village roads – Jianye Road, Binhu Road and Yingchun Road.
A project to offer convenient natural gas use is also on its way to the village population, which no longer comprises only the native residents, but also a growing number of new settlers, as a new business center has taken shape in the village in recent years.
