Ancient ceramics displayed in Taicang

A collection of ancient ceramics went on display at Taicang Museum, Jiangsu province, on Nov 19. It will remain open until the end of December.

The 134 items on display date from the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220) to the modern era. They consist of table wares, decorative pieces, stationeries and sacrificial vessels. They were collected by ceramic collector Wu Jinkang from Taicang.

Many of the ceramics were made at the Yue Kilns in the Han and Tang dynasties, the Xing Kilns in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), and Longquan Kilns, Jian Kilns and Cizhou Kilns in the Song and Yuan dynasties (960-1279, 1271-1368).
