Upon signing up to a friendship pact on Nov 10, Taicang port and Malaysian's Port Klang will cooperate in shipping, logistics, human resources to forge new trade links.

Taicang port is located at the Yangtze River estuary, next to Shanghai. It is an important link for domestic and international shipping, and prepares to handle regional shipping routes between China and Southeast Asia.

The largest port in Malaysia, Port Klang is located along the Strait of Malacca, 38 kilometers southwest of Kuala Lumpur, the country's capital. The port was the world's 12th busiest container port and the world's 17th busiest port by cargo handling capacity in 2012.
