Song brocade, a kind of exquisite silk fabric invented during the Song Dynasty (960-1279) more than 1,000 years ago, was shown recently at the Milan Spring/Summer Fashion Week in Italy, attracting the attention of many foreigners.

It marked the debut of Song brocade at the prestigious fashion show in Milan, which is the host city of the ongoing 2015 World Expo. Men's clothes made by Suzhou Dingsheng Silk Company feature embroidered patterns of royal dresses in ancient China.

"Our Song brocade has drawn the praise of many viewers and fashion designers," said an elated Wu Jianghua, president of Dingsheng Silk.

She added the company will use the Milan Fashion Week to launch its brand internationally.
