Pianist Li Yundi to perform in Suzhou

Celebrated Swiss conductor Charles Dutoit and famous Chinese pianist Li Yundi will collaborate in a concert at Suzhou Culture and Art Center on June 19.

Dutoit has performed with all major orchestras around the world and is now artistic director and principal conductor of London's Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Li is a household name in China. In the 2013-2014 season, he went on a concert tour through 35 mainland cities.

They will perform in Suzhou with the National Youth Orchestra from the United States. The concert will be the orchestra's China debut. The program includes Beethoven's "Piano Concerto No. 5 in E flat major," French composer Hector Berlioz's "Dream Symphony" and Chinese composer Tan Dun's new symphony.
