Taicang enterprise produces electric vehicles to aid logistics
Suzhou LONGEREV Electric Vehicle Co from Taicang, Jiangsu province, has produced eight electric vehicles to be used as logistics vehicles.
The 4-meter-long electric vehicles look not dissimilar to ordinary vans and have three-speed automatic gearboxes. They are able to run at a maximum speed of 110 km per hour with a maximum load capacity of 600 kg. On a fast charge of 30 minutes or a normal charge of three hours, the vehicles have a driving distance of about 100 kilometers.
Compared to fuel-driven vehicles, the electric vehicles are quieter and benefit from obvious environmental protection features.
Co-developed by LONGEREV and Suzhou Kinglong, a manufacturer of Higer buses, the electric vehicles adopt the latest Internet of Vehicles (IOV) technology. The technology facilitates logistics enterprises to monitor and manage the vehicles.
The vehicles cost 170,000 yuan ($27,806) per unit, but with subsidies from the central government for new energy vehicles, they are effectively priced at 50,000 yuan ($8,178) per unit.
According to Liao Dongmin, manager of LONGEREV, the company has received orders for electric vehicles exceeding 3,000. The company plans to produce more multifunctional electric vehicles to cater for different industries in the future, based on the needs of customers.
