2015 IAAF Race Walking Challenge (Taicang) open for registration
The 2015 IAAF Race Walking Challenge (Taicang) will kick off in Taicang, Jiangsu province on May 1. The event that will be broadcast live on CCTV is now open to register with.
It will start at the square of Taicang Administration center and include two differently-sized routes, 3.6km and 6.2km. Walking enthusiasts between the ages of 18 and 65 are invited to take part in the event. Maximum 3,000 people can join, 2,000 for the 3.6km route and 1,000 for the longer track.
The application fee is 50 yuan ($8.15) per person. Prospective applicants can register via official website http://www.tcjianbuzou.org and Taicang Runners Association's WeChat account (QR code below). People can also go to the sports center, Taicang Runners Association, neighborhood committees of Chengxiang town and New District and Shaxi's Party School and national fitness center to apply personally for the race.
The application deadline is April 17. All participants will be given outfits, including T-shirts, number marks and manuals upon presentation of their ID cards on April 28 and 29.
The race will set 600 awards. The first 600 people to finish the routes will be awarded prizes ranging from 100 yuan to 300 yuan.
