Shaxi town in Taicang, Jiangsu province, has been listed as a national 4A level tourism spot thanks to its Jiangnan-style architecture, profound culture and slow-paced lifestyle.

Shaxi has a long history, distinctive sightseeing and rich specialties. Water construction, stone arched bridges and the old street are Shaxi's three main features that make it distinct from other towns.

Since 2009, Shaxi has made ancient building restoration a priority. In addition to preserving the old town, Shaxi has strived to improve the environment and optimize tourism facilities to promote old town tourism. In an increasingly modernized society, more and more natural places are being ruined. It's rare that Shaxi can be protected in such a good condition.

Thanks to its amazing attractions, Shaxi has gained many titles all over the country, including "Chinese historical and cultural town" and "Jiangsu characteristic landscape tourism town".
