Search for the canal and watch the Youth Olympic Games

A "Walk along the canal and watch the Youth Olympic Games" activity was launched in Yangzhou on the morning of August 13 in conjunction with the setting up of a nation-wide Internet media tour of Jiangsu.

Lead by Yangzhou, the old canal's application for World Cultural Heritage was granted in June And the canal is now listed as China’s No.32 World Cultural Heritage. The Second Summer Youth International Olympic Games will be held on August 16; and “Search for the canal and watch the Youth Olympic Games” has become an important theme.

In the coming week, about 40 journalists from 35 internet media – such as, China Daily, People’s Daily, Xinhua, EastDay and so on – will visit Yangzhou, Huai’an, Suzhou, Wuxi and Nanjing, to discover the historical and cultural heritage and tourism development, and to sense the glamour of the ancient canal together with the vigorous Youth Olympic Games from the angle of new media and internet.

This activity is sponsored by Jiangsu's Provincial Party Committee's Internet Information Office and Xinhua Daily Media Group and undertaken by China Jiangsu Website.
