The city of Taicang is committed to constructing a sewage pipe network around the city to improve the living environment for residents and promote ecological progress.

The wastewater used to be discharged into rivers without treatment, causing serious pollution of water resources. The sewage collection pipe network aims to collect all the wastewater for full treatment to protect the water environment.

To date, the city has constructed sewage pipes covering 69.71 kilometers in towns and districts, as well as seven sewage treatment plants for agricultural pollution, with a daily handling capacity of 381.6 tons.

In the last half of this year, the city plans to build 69 more kilometers of sewage pipelines. It will also strengthen domestic sewage treatment in rural areas.
