Children's Day is coming soon. It is more than a festival for children – it is also a day for parents to nurture relationships with their kids. The library, cinemas, tourist attractions and travel agencies in Taicang have launched various activities to offer plenty of options.

Taicang Library will provide children with many activities that require advanced reservations. The activities will highlight interactions between parents and children, including book reading, talent shows, games and making zongzi (glutinous rice dumplings).

A French clown show "Imagine-toi" will be staged at Taicang theater on June 6. The 80-minute show highlights the clown's beatbox sound-effects and body language.

Special discounts will be offered to the first 20 families. Tickets for two adults and one child are priced at 240 yuan, reduced from an original price of 600 yuan.

3. Cinemas

Various cartoons will hit the screens on Children's Day. Some cinemas will offer discounts for children.

4. Scenic spots

For the children's festival, most parents prefer to take their children on an outing. The Parent-Child Garden in Taicang Modern Agriculture Park will be the best place for children to play and learn. It has small animals, fruit trees and entertainment facilities, which will help kids learn through play and enhance the relationships between parents and children.

It you want to enjoy a rural landscape, Donglin village in the countryside might certainly suit your taste. There, parents and children will have a chance to experience rural life by picking vegetables and fruit, tasting farm dishes in the ecological restaurant and doing some farm work.

In addition, you can visit Jincang Lake for a picnic or walk around Shaxi old town to appreciate the ancient culture.

5. Travel agencies

To welcome Children's Day, travel agencies are also providing some one-day and two-day tours for families at favorable prices. The tourism routes cover many popular tourist destinations, including Shanghai Wild Animal Park, Changzhou Dinosaur Park and Changxing county with its green forests, mountains and clean lakes.
