Liuhe sees large number of tourists in 2013

Liuhe town in Taicang received a total of 600,000 tourists in 2013, achieving an added value of 3.86 billion yuan ($627.71 million) in the service industry, an increase of 10.21 percent.

The town has maintained steady development of the service industry since last year. During the National Day holidays in 2013, 100,000 visitors came to Liuhe to taste the local seafood.

Liuhe, geographically close to Shanghai and located along the Yangtze River, has taken advantage of its location, historical culture and natural resources to promote its catering industry and tourism brand, which features natural ecology and aquatic products. It will give priority to the development of high-end real estate, economy and business tourism. The principal focus will be on the promotion and pursuit of promising tourism projects, including business leisure projects and distinctive commercial streets.

Liuhe will continue to popularize its real estate, aquatic products and Yangtze River estuary tourism, as well as optimize its tourism services, to attract more travelers for shopping, traveling, eating and entertainment.
