Taicang Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone to be put into use before July

The construction of an inspection and supervisory infrastructure in Taicang Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone is speeding up. A three-kilometer patrol path and fence has been completed, along with two patrol path river-crossing bridges, a 5,000-square meter parking lot and a 5,000-square meter container yard.

This check and acceptance project mainly includes a video monitoring system, an internal customs pass, a China Inspection and Quarantine (CIQ) station, a terminal management system, and maintenance and reconstruction of a major customs post, inspection depot, a supervision building and old fence.

After a public bidding process in November 2013, the video monitoring system will be completed in late March together with the completion of pipeline excavations, cable laying and equipment procuring. The internal customs pass building project was started in November last year and will also be completed in late March. The public bidding for the construction of an information system, inspection depot and intelligent customs pass reconstruction project has been finished, and these projects are to be completed by the end of March. As for a steel-structured internal customs pass, equipment procurement, and simple decorations of office buildings, technical solutions have been presented, the public bidding has started and construction will start at the end of March. Since the whole project has been given the go ahead, roads will be closed at the end of the month.

The whole check and acceptance project of Taicang Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone is due for completion in April and will be put into use in the first half of the year.
