Hornsey Sea

Hornsey Sea, or the sea of fragrant snow, at Guangfu town in Suzhou of Jiangsu province is known for having over 30 miles of plum blossoms. Every year, when the plum blossoms bloom, the area attracts many visitors.

Special activities

During the 18th Suzhou Taihu Lake Plum Blossom Festival and the 13th Taihu Lake Spring Tourist Month, the Hornsey Sea scenic spot organizes a series of activities, such as a plum blossom bonsai exhibition, blessing ceremony, lantern riddle game, plum trees photography and on-the-spot handicraft creation show.

Linwu Mountain at Xishan Island

The best time to appreciate plum blossoms is from the 15th day of the first lunar month to the 20th day of the second lunar month. During this period, Linwu Mountain’s plum blossoms are in full bloom, becoming one of the biggest resorts featuring plum blossoms.

Xishan Island started to plant plum trees in the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907).
