Taicang offers free legal services to seniors

Taicang has stepped up efforts to improve legal aid for local seniors by offering free services such as legal consultations and plea writing.

The city has set up 87 legal aid stations in total to better serve senior citizens. The legal aid center also provides “legal aid cards” for seniors. The old can keep in touch with the aid center through the phone number on the card. The elderly may apply to safeguard their rights with free and immediate help from legal aid stations nearby their homes. Home services are available to the disabled and sick over 75.

The legal aid center and aid stations have made efforts to better service the elderly, such as providing wheelchairs, presbyopic glasses, emergency medicine and free legal aid materials. The legal aid center also invites professional lawyers to offer free legal consultations and plea-writing services for seniors.
