Suzhou handicraft shines around the world

With promising market prospects, Song brocade products of Suzhou will enter international commercial landmarks in London and Paris in the coming year.

The International Silk Road Conference was held in Istanbul, Turkey, recently. Government officers and more than 400 experts from China, Turkey, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and 17 other countries attended the conference. A Chinese silk exhibition was held during the conference exhibiting six categories of 228 silk products, which display the long history of Chinese silk and the profundity of silk culture.

Song brocades from Suzhou, Shu brocades from Sichuan and Yun brocades from Nanjing are known as the three famous brocades in China, with Song brocade topping the others. To promote Song brocades, the Chinese Song brocade development base in Suzhou has developed the first electronic jacquard machine for Song brocades in the world, which not only enriches the patterns of Song brocades but also improves efficiency and accuracy.

A number of merchants from different nations and regions have shown interest in Song brocades, and design centers of Song brocade have been set up in Italy and France.
