Qin beat all the other works and won the highest honor, the Best Film award. The microfilm centers around the story of Jianzhen, a Chinese monk, who overcomes difficulties traveling abroad to spread Chinese culture. The song Jasmine was also a key element of the story.

“I feel really excited about winning the award, and I hope more contests of this kind can be held in the future. After shooting this micro film, I always think of Zhangjiagang whenever I hear Jasimine,” said Ye Xiaohu, director of Qin.

The contest was cosponsored by the Zhangjiagang municipal government China Film Directors’ Guide and had support from Sina.com and Sina Weibo.

Li Shaohong, president of the China Film Directors’ Guide; Liu Yiwei, deputy secretary general of the China Film Directors’ Guide; Yao Linrong, secretary of the CPC Zhangjiagang municipal committee; and Yang Fang, director of the publicity department of the Zhangjiagang municipal committee, attended the awarding ceremony and presented a trophy to the producers of the winning films.
