The foundation for the Suzhou Cultural Expo Center was laid at Taihu new city in Wujiang district on October 29. Additionally, 72 important projects have also begun construction in Wujiang.

The Suzhou Cultural Expo Center is situated in Taihu new city in Wujiang district, west of Taihu Lake and east of CBD. It covers an area of 9 hectares. With advantages in ecology, transportation and policy, Taihu new city is a new urban area built by Suzhou. The Suzhou Cultural Expo Center will be a window into Taihu new city.

The Suzhou Cultural Expo Center includes the Suzhou grand theater and the city exhibition pavilion. It has a total building area of 30,000 square meters. The Suzhou grand theater includes 1,600 grand theaters, 600 multi-functional halls, cinemas with eight to 10 screening rooms and supporting service facilities. The city exhibition pavilion is made up of an urban planning exhibition hall, museum, hall of fame and conference center. Wujiang hopes to transform the Suzhou Cultural Expo Center into a world-renowned cultural landmark.
