Taicang unveils six themed tourism products

Taicang unveiled six themed tourism products on September 24 featuring various delicacies, fruits, rural scenery, outdoor sports, cultural resorts and shopping in an effort to bring Taicang’s charm to tourists.

Taicang’s delicacies are represented by Yangtze River crabs and Shuangfeng mutton. Its rural scenery is represented by its modern agricultural park and Jincang Lake. Its outdoor sports are represented by Zhenghe Park and park base. Its cultural resorts are represented by Nanyuan Garden and Shaxi ancient town. Tourists can enjoy their shopping tour in the Yalu factory store and the City Sunday factory store. These tourism products cover dining, lifestyle, travel, shopping and entertainment, gathering Taicang’s local resources to offer tourists more choices.

According to the person in charge of the Taicang municipal tourism administration, Taicang’s tourism will continuously improve in the future by releasing improved tourism products such as a one-day tour and two-day tour, giving tourists a chance to experience Taicang’s features and convenience.

In 2010, Taicang made a plan to upgrade its tourism in three years. By the end of 2013, Taicang will fulfill its goal to transform its tourism resources into products. It has invested 3.14 billion yuan ($510 million) in tourism projects in the past three years.

In the future, Taicang will use new media to promote tourism and expand its influence, making Taicang’s tourism a brand.
