Organized by the administrative committee of the Science and Education New Town in Taicang, the second “Modern Countryside, Charming New Town” Photography Competition was announced recently. A number of photos depicting the development of the Science and Education New Town and daily life won top prizes. The photos Flying and Taicang’s Victoria Harbor won first prize.

The Science and Education New Town is a pilot modern garden city built in Taicang. It is also an emerging cultural and technological city in Jiangsu province and the Yangtze River Delta. This photography competition attracted amateur photographers from Suzhou and the districts of Jiading and Baoshan in Shanghai. The competition lasted four months and has received more than 1,600 photos of the new town’s scenery, traffic, culture and daily life.
