To date, Taicang has invested 400 million yuan ($65.18 million) in the projects for tourism construction and has completed a three-year project for the overall promotion of tourism. Additionally, it has defined its new goals, assignments and policies to seek breakthroughs in tourism.

Taicang is committed to turn tourism projects into commoditization and fully promote engineering projects and the upgrade of new tourism. There are several projects being promoted. The modern orchid cultural park has completed substantial construction. Following Orchid Expo, Plum Flower Park, Paternity Park and Bamboo Park are under construction.

In order to emphasize its main goal to accelerate the construction of tourism, the government has published a series of policies that elaborate the projects methodically, defining the requirements and ancillary measures. Moreover, the policies have defined the development of tourism as the most important goal, seeking to gradually construct Taicang into a famous tourism destination across the Yangtze River Delta.
