The Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu province recently confirmed its first group of 23 innovation bases for industry-university research, and it has included the Taicang innovation base for digital culture and creative industry in Science and Education New Town in its list.

The Taicang base aims to foster and support companies involved in movie making, comics and animation, industrial design and digital publication. The base is located in the Tianjing Lake Cultural Science and Technology Industrial Park of the New Town. The park is divided into three zones. Zone A is the university science and technology park, which focuses on movie making, animation and game design. Zone B is the Taicang media center, focusing on digital publication and new media, and Zone C is the Taicang creative industrial park, which focuses on industrial design. 　

Taicang innovation base cooperates with many scientific institutions, including the establishment of the Research Institute of Information Technology together with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, setting up a technical service center with Jiangxiong Union Institute and building a public service platform with ZTE Corporation, which uses cloud computing to provide services of IT integration, research and development and design for companies and users in the industrial park.
