More than 100 students and teachers from 10 famous universities in eastern China took part in the opening ceremony of the first Taicang Industrial Design Week yesterday, Taicang Daily said.

Co-organized by the Industrial Design Association of Jiangsu Province and the Taicang Municipal Government, this Taicang Industrial Design Week is aimed at helping Taicang to become a pioneer of the Jiangsu industrial design industry and promoting the development of the Yangtze River Delta as a regional creative center.

This industrial design week, with the theme of “transforming, upgrading and strengthening” the industry, will boost the construction of a creative system for industrial design. The organizers have also invited representatives from top design companies in Germany and China and famous design schools of eastern China to offer guidance concerning issues such as regional cooperation, market promotion and brand promotion, using the latest ideas and trends of the domestic and international design industry to develop the field of industrial design in Taicang.
