The city of Taicang, Jiangsu province started some promotional activities in the city of Dortmund, Germany, on May 16, which pulled in representatives of the Dortmund Chamber of Commerce and Industry and government and more than 100 German business people.

The event was hosted by the Taicang and Dortmund governments and introduced Taicang government personnel who described their city, especially the investment environment and a Sino-German cooperation system in education, to everyone present.

There are more cultural exchange activities in store for this year, with classical Chinese music, such as sizhu, being played on traditional instruments, including stringed and woodwind.

The sizhu originated in Taicang and has a distinct local flavor and artistic charm that is typical representative of southern China.
