Taicang has fulfilled investment in the tourism sector due to the fast development of competitive projects.

An inspection team organized by the Municipal People’s Congress yesterday examined the implementation of the official “Plan to Upgrade the Tourism of Taicang in Three Years”. Qin Jianmin, Director of the Municipal People’s Congress participated in and addressed the inspection. He was accompanied by Zhu Dafeng, Municipal Standing Committee Executive Vice Mayor. Also in attendance were Xia Linxiang, Xu Mingqiang and Ji Yongning, Deputy Directors of the Municipal People’s Congress.

The inspection team visited and listened to reports on key tourism projects, including the Yangtze Estuary Tourist Resort District, the second phase of the Shaxi town project, and the construction of the Taicang Modern Agricultural Park.

Qin pointed out that the government and relevant departments should make tourism a priority and promote its development. The quality of tourism activities should be improved through creative development concepts and the combination of tourism with other industries. The development of tourism should be compatible with overall city plans and provide a balance to economic and social development blueprints. Unique tourism products should also be exploited to better integrate tourism and culture.

The inspection team spoke highly of the implementation of the “Plan to Upgrade the Tourism of Taicang in Three Years” and further proposed advice and suggestions for faster development.
