A foundation-laying ceremony for Nordenia (China) Film Technology Co Ltd was held yesterday in the Taicang economic and technological development zone.

Congratulations were extended and expectations are that the corporation will be put into operation and yield economic returns as soon as possible. It is reported that the project will be built in three phases and its output is expected to reach 1.5bn yuan after completion.

The corporation is a subsidiary wholly invested by Germany-based Nordenia International AG. The subsidiary has a total investment of 22.66 million euros and its registered capital is 8.3 million euros. It will produce the raw materials for hygienic products, technical films, flexible packaging and others. The first-phase project is expected to complete by the first quarter of next year. Designed with German standards, the corporation will introduce advanced technologies and highly-automated production equipment from Germany to produce elastic non-woven fabrics in its early stages. Later, it will expand its business scope by introducing functional film production equipment. Nordenia (China) Film Technology serves the multinationals of fast moving consumer goods in China and the Asia-Pacific region.

COO and vice-chairman of the board of Nordenia International AG said that they expect a better future in China.
