The First Sino-Germany Lawyer Cooperation (Taicang) Forum and Jiangsu New Talent (Taicang) Law Firm launching ceremony were held on May 18, 2012 at the Garden Hotel in Taicang. Local officials who attended the event included Xu Tonglu, deputy director of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Justice and party secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Lawyer Association, Sheng Leiming, president of Shanghai Lawyers Association, Luo Bingxiang, director of Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Justice, Zhang Ju’e, deputy director of Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Justice and president of Suzhou Lawyers Association, Wang Jianfeng, mayor of Taicang municipal government, Qin Jianming, director of the Standing Committee of NPC of Taicang, Song Jianzhong, chair of Taicang Municipal People’s Political Consultive Conference, Wang Guoqi, member of Taicang standing committee and secretary of Taicang Commission of Politics and Law, Song Wenyuan, vice mayor of Taicang municipal government.

Co-organized by Taicang Municipal Bureau of Justice, Taicang Municipal Lawyers Association and Jiangsu New Talent Law Firm, the forum aims to build a brand new platform for Sino-Germany legal cooperation by virtue of legal service, guide and promote Germany enterprises in Taicang in growing bigger and stronger based on the cooperation and exchange in the legal fields of the two countries.

Renowned legal experts and scholars and lawyers from China and Germany were invited to attend the forum to discuss on ways on how to realize a faster and better development for the lawyer industry by focusing on the theme of “innovation and development of the lawyer industry” based on the macro-development of the lawyer industry and the lawyer practice. On the forum, Xu Tonglu, deputy director of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Justice and Wang Jianfeng, mayor of Taicang city unveiled the sign for Jiangsu New Talent (Taicang) Law Firm. The latter, as the first national excellent law firm even introduced in Taicang, was also granted the bonus fund by Song Wenyuan, the vice mayor of Taicang city.

After the sign unveiling ceremony, renowned legal experts and lawyers from both China and Germany gave wonderful lectures on the theme of the forum.
