Taicang administrates Taicang Port Economic Development Zone (the port area and the new area), the New Science and Education Town, six townships, one sub-district, 88 administrative villages, 3,205 villager teams and 66 neighborhood committees. The population with registered household reached 471,000, and the registered floating population reached 489,000 by the end of 2011.
