On February 18, professor Guo Xiucheng, from the Asset Management Company of Southeast University visited Taicang, to establish a scientific and technological innovation platform and promote cooperation among enterprises, universities and research institutions.

The secretary of the Taicang Municipal Party Committee, Lu Liusheng, and Deputy Mayor Zhu Dafeng also joined the tour.

Taicang enjoys a long-term relationship with Southeast University and has nurtured the well-regarded physician, Wu Jianxiong. Last year, Taicang and Southeast University agreed to strengthen cooperation in biological medicine, new materials and major equipment manufacturing.

Guo and his team visited the Scientific and Technological Pioneering Park to discuss further cooperation among enterprises, universities and research institutions with experts from Taicang and Southeast University.

Lu said that the local economy is connected with scientific technological innovations. Its University Science Park is under construction under the supervision of the Jianxiong Joint Research Institute and Jianxiong Vocational and Technical College.

A scientific and educational town is taking shape. Lu hopes Taicang could enhance its cooperation with Southeast University.

Guo said the centennial anniversary of the birth of Wu Jianxong holds a significant meaning. Taicang offers unique industrial advantages, as well as systematic industrial development planning that are favorable for further cooperation. He looks forward to help drive economic development of the region.
