South Garden

Constructed in the period of Emperor Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, the garden was where Wang Xijue, the royal consultant in the Ming Dynasty, used to appreciate plum blossoms and handle governmental affairs; therefore, it was also called “Royal Consultant's Mansion”.


Now, the reconstructed scenic spots are Xiuxue Hall, Xiangtao Pavilion, Flower-planting Place, Crane and Plum Hall, Dahuan Pavilion, Gallery, Nine-Curved Bridge, Pond Shadow Pavilion, Well Pavilion and an arch over gateway.

Bus lines: line 105 and line 108

Self-driving lines: drive through the Taicang exit on the High way along the Yangtze River to the No. 339 high way, Taiping Rd. and Nanyuan Rd, and turn right to the high way connecting Suzhou, Kunshan and Taicang, and drive through the Shuangfeng exit to the No.204 High way, Nanyuan Rd., turn left and drive one kilometer to the east.
